GIS Technician: Kaart is looking to fill multiple entry-level GIS Technician positions. We fully train, so no experience is required for this position. We would like to meet with you if you are analytical, pay attention to detail, are able to think critically, as well as work efficiently. The successful candidate will be able to work closely with others through cross-team collaboration.

Kaart will provide all on the job training to the successful candidates.

Preferred Key Qualifications:

Enthusiastic about learning. Attention to detail, accuracy, and quality of data output. Works well with computers. Responds well to constructive criticism. Can collaborate with others on projects. Kaart is hiring for a Software Engineer skilled in C++, have experience in contributing to open source projects, and you are an independent worker that enjoys working in highly collaborative teams and participating in cross-team efforts when challenges occur.  You are a critical thinker and you understand contemporary software design and engineering practices. You enjoy and thrive in fast-paced, multidisciplinary environments.

 

Key Skills:

Application program upgrading and maintenance

Develop reusable software building blocks to allow for fast prototyping in C++

Survey Technician:

Kaart is hiring for a Colorado Survey Technician! As part of Kaart Surveying, LLC you will be working directly under a Professional Land Surveyor surveying projects and performing professional land-surveying duties. This entry-level survey job will take you to sites all over Western Colorado. You will learn the ins and outs of surveying and basic mapping skills under the direction of experienced surveyors. If you are detail-oriented, have a background in computer science, math or mechanical drawing, this may be the position for you.

Specific Responsibilities:

  • Follows direction and facilitates preparation of land descriptions, exhibits, and right-of-way dedications.
  • Follows direction regarding the examination and/or preparation of survey plats and maps to ensure proper content, form, and compliance with Colorado revised statutes and board rules.
  • Follows direction and facilitates processing and/or preparation of deed and easement documents.
  • Demonstrates a respectful attitude towards customers and coworkers that promotes teamwork, open communication, and effective customer service.
  • Exercises appropriate level of initiative and judgment to make decisions within the scope of assigned authority.
  • Search, locate and recover existing survey markers, including stones and property irons, and set out stakes and other markers
  • Compile and verify preexisting data from photographs, previous surveys, maps, deeds, legal descriptions and other sources
  • Construction staking on commercial and residential projects.
  • Record data using electronic devices, image-capturing software, drawings and detailed notes, and double-check for accuracy
  • Inventory and maintain equipment for use by survey party, including vehicles and electronics.
  • Use a plotter to accurately plot data and Computer Aided Drafting (CAD) software to create technical drawings for topographical and boundary surveys
  • Work in collaboration with Kaart Professional Land Surveyors, taking direction from them while working independently when needed.
  • Clear brush and transport tools and materials over uneven terrain, and retrieve stakes, rebar and other miscellaneous materials from the site at the end of each project.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma (or equivalent)
  • Strong computation, geometry and trigonometry skills
  • Ability to compute mathematics as it is applied to field surveying and related engineering computations.
  • A valid Colorado driver’s license and be able to operate motorized vehicles.
  • Proficiency in Civil 3D-CAD, Trimble GPS, Trimble Data Collectors and Robotic Total Stations (preferred)
  • Two or more years of experience as a surveying technician (preferred)

Physical Requirements: 

  • Sit, stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl are required for field inspections.
  • The ability to manipulate and manage tools, or controls; and reach with hands and arms.
  • The ability to walk on uneven terrain and hike long distances each day.
  • The ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and move up to 80 pounds.
  • The ability to visually assess your surroundings, make visual readings on your tools and equipment.

Kaart is hiring for a Colorado Professional Licensed Landscape Architect! As part of Kaart Planning, LLC you will be taking over the lead position for all of the existing Landscape Architecture planning, and design projects, while transitioning into the expansion of the department and clientele, You will have the opportunity to shadow the outgoing (retiring) principle of the department absorbing as much as you can from his 40 years of experience. Ultimately this position has the responsibility of significant client contact, marketing and proposals, project management, public presentations for planning projects, design management, and all traditional duties of a Senior Landscape Architect.

  • An additional three (3) years of increasingly responsible supervisory experience that may include supervising landscape architects, planners, and designers is required.
  • Experience researching local regulations and requirements.
  • A valid Colorado driver’s license and be able to operate motorized vehicles.
