Kaart created a 3D web map of the Grand Junction Downtown. This was to be displayed in a new version of the Downtown Development Authority (DDA’s) website. The web map allows users to easily filter out businesses based on type of establishment (restaurant, store, business, etc) while simultaneously allowing the user to have a fun, three dimensional view of the downtown area.

GIS Analysis
For over a decade, Kaart has provided GIS expertise and documentation to become one of the leaders in capturing, editing, and analyzing GIS data all over the world. Kaart provides exceptional GIS analysis, product development, and field collection services. We work with each of our clients to understand their background and the hurdles that each project presents. We ensure that our solutions through GIS exceed our client's expectations while guiding them from concept design to final product delivery.

OSM Editing
Kaart is a major contributor to OpenStreetMap (OSM). Our GIS professionals continuously improves OSM data to enable accurate car navigation, trained machine learning algorithms and represent people despite their location in the world. Kaart has staff in Colorado, California, Washington, Chile, Mexico, Guatemala, Philippines, Moldova, Romania, Russia, and Turkey.
Imagery Collection
Kaart has traveled to collect street level imagery in some of the most remote regions of the world. Imagery is captured with GPS-enabled cameras in order to generate new data and detect changes in data to fix road geometry, update construction activity, and add traffic lanes, turn restrictions, and other tags necessary to improve vehicle navigation. Kaart provides imagery to the open source community using applications such as Mapillary.

Recent Projects
Kaart has partnered with the Veterans Affairs (VA) to create a large-scale map that is used to determine which zip codes fall into their numerous Covid response units. This map required determining the boundaries of counties, Native American tribes, and zip codes in portions of Colorado, Utah, Arizona and New Mexico. Once those properties were visually represented, we determined the location of current VA hospitals in the area and where mobile response units could be situated.
Kaart partners with ESRI to enable access to open data from the ArcGIS user community for editing OpenStreetMap (OSM) through RapiD and JOSM editors. Kaart has worked with ESRI to process municipal datasets to be published as feature layers and shared with the OSM community through ArcGIS Online Data Portal. The process provides the OSM community access to building footprints and address point features as edited by Kaart team members.
